Description

Teen sensations Molly Ringwald (THE BREAKFAST CLUB) and Andrew McCarthy (ST ELMO’S FIRE) drew rave reviews for their starring performances in this hit love story produced and written by John Hughes (PLANES, TRAINS, AND AUTOMOBILES ). Andie is a high school girl from the other side of town. Blane’s the wealthy heartthrob who asks her to the prom. But as fast as their romance builds, it’s threatened by the painful reality of peer pressure. From its bittersweet story to its hip New Wave soundtrack, the film features great supporting performances from Harry Dean Stanton, Jon Cryer, James Spader and Annie Potts.

  • So close to perfection…

“Pretty In Pink” would easily rank among the top three John Hughes films from the ‘80s, had it not been for one egregious, unforgivable error… the wig. Better to have not done the reshoot of the climactic scene, better to have left well enough alone, better to have ended as John Hughes originally wrote it and not caved to some pre-release audience focus group’s comments, but no… the wig. Shame on you, Howard Deutch. You had an absolute classic in the can.

I haven’t watched this movie, but it has James Spader in it, better known as Robert California from The Office. That is enough to give it 5 stars in my opinion.

  • Great Movie - Terrible Picture Quality

First, let me say that this is an excellent movie and, arguably, the zenith of the John Hughes teen films. So, movie gets 4/5 stars, but the picture quality of this digital HD presentation is quite poor. This iTunes version is just the old DVD master upscaled to HD, but the one used for streaming (hulu, netflix) and cable (EPIX) is excellent, true HD mastering. It is confusing that they would still have this old version and not give you one that is of superior quality. So... great movie... bad print.
  • Thank you iTunes 🙂

The sonorous moral undertones of the political message were enlightening. Become the sensation of the zest of the protagonist, bathe in the wrath of the antagonist, allow the ringworm to encircle you in an ellipse of hellish brimstone. Let us celebrate in this spiritual and emotional journey through time and space. Amour and love are the eternal and perpetual equalizers. They trump and extinguish barriers and walls of class, race, money, and color. People in despair or sadness need assistance and aid. Don’t let the Republicans or the Conservatives bog you down! Dont be fooled; this blast from the past wont rly hurt ya if ya know whats goin’ on. Molly Ringwald is the QUEEN. Da QUEEN. And she doesnt have ringworm!!!!! AYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! ;)

Not a movies designed for anyone seeking a deep story. Not funny, not emotional, not romantic. On the level of Dumb and Dumber, just not as funny. Sooooo many better movies out there.
