Why won't you let me buy this movie?? Seriously, why would you ask me to rent something that I plan on watching every weekend. Making it available for purchase is in no way a bad idea. Believe me.

I am a huge fan of The Doors and the one thing I will say is that Val Kilmer is absolutely incredible as Jim Morrisson. There were times when I felt as if Val was actually Jim himself, from the hair, the clothes, the way he spoke, the way he walked and even the singing voice. Val totally absorbed himself into this role and he is just incredible. BUT I have some issues with the way JIm was portrayed in the film as a complete rock and roll bad boy who took drugs, obsesses over death and drank himself silly all the time. While it is certainly true that Jim had a notorious dark side and could be a total douche but when he wasn't drinking he could be shy, soft spoken and other times a very friendly and engaging person. The film didn't really accurately portray him, but then again does any hollywood film every really truly do that? No not really! But Val KIlmer was fantastic in this role and that's the film's saving grace.
