I rented this movie about a month ago and it sat on my apple TV home screen for weeks until my boyfriend and I finally decided to just watch it. I haven't felt connected to a movie in a very long time, and this film moved me to tears. The writing was spectacular and the acting was brilliant. I will come back to this one many times, and I look forward to what writer/director Robbie Pickering does next. I know the Oscars are BS, but it hurts me movies like this aren't recognized more widely. I haven't stopped thinking about it since I watched it!!!

This is a good, heartfelt comedy. Rachel Harris delivers an A+ performance.
  • The cold crassness is only skin deep.

Like the younger leading character, this film tries every means to scare away the soft-hearted: mountains of cursing, crass imagery, coarse depictions of our small-minded neighbours. But the emotional core of this film is so deeply gentle and satisfying that it would be a true shame to miss it. The climax reveals the filmmaker's abiding love for his protagonist and showers her and the audience with tender mercies and fulfilment. So, have a shot or two of your favourite poison and be patient. The warmth from the drink will soon be followed by the warmth our heroine will bring to your heart.

So much I'd like to say but I don't want to ruin it. Watch it. It's worth it.

I saw this movie first at the Chicago international Film Fest. And I swear, it was a truly affecting experience. Smart, funny, touching, and affecting. Rachel Harris is stunning. Totally takes you by surprise. She is worth every inch of this film. The last five minutes, is the best part of the whole experience. Waaaatch it. you'll thank yourself later.
