Wasn't expecting this to be any good. How wrong I was. In my opinion, this was solid acting with an amazing story.

I grew up in Anchorage and my daughter was an extra in the movie so I wanted to like it. I’m pleased to say that it’s a pretty decent movie and I really like the cinematography. The critics say it’s dreary and weary, if they experienced downtown Anchorage in the winter they would get it and this movie completely touched on that mood.

It is horrifying to think that this film is based on a true story. John Cusack is menacingly and frightfully good as the murderous Bobby Hansen. Nicholas Cage is very good as the determined detective. Vanessa Hudgens' performance as Cindy is believable and well done. The photography is beautiful. My only fault with the film was the excessive amount of scenes involving naked women. The point about the sleaziness of some areas in Anchorage was over done.
  • I like Nic Cage but awful casting and directing

Cusack as a serial killer?! Not even sure anyone actually acted in this awful movie. The acting, the plot, it was just awful.

This isn't a review, I just have a simple question. Why can't viewers rent this movie? fjm

This movie was awesome. If you like movies that keep you on the edge of your seat, then this is the movie for you. This movie does contain profanity, quite a bit of nudity, and drug use. Nevertheless, none of those detract from the sheer awsomeness that is Frozen Ground. This movie is a true thriller. Don't listen to the people who say it's awful. They're sadly mistaken.

Although my tastes run towards horror movies I am not a fan of serial killer movies but I wanted to check this one out (since I live in Alaska) and found out I enjoyed the movie much more than I thought I would've. I've seen some complaints about how the film was dreary but it depicts how Alaska often looks during the winter when we get approximately five hours worth of sunlight during the day in the southern region, around Anchorage. I found some of the scenes suspenseful and I always appreciate it when directors/producers/ and anyone associated with the production of a movie not only researches how life is in the particular place that the film is supposed to take place in, but I find it more enjoyable when they actually film some of the movie in said location. (For example I've seen a movie about Alaska and there was a sheriff in the movie, we don't have counties here so we don't have any sheriff's) I thought Nicholas Cage, John Cusak, and Vanessage Hudgens along with the rest of the cast did a good job.
