Description

A deadly epidemic is spreading around the world. But when it first began, no one paid attention. Not the government, not health officials, not the press--not even the people who were dying. By the time we awoke up to the danger, it was too late...and thousands continue to die. Matthew Modine stars in this medical thriller as a young doctor tracking the disease halfway around the world and across two continents--and whose work is thwarted at every turn by fear, official indifference and bitter medical rivalries.

Every gay man should watch this movie. I remember these days vividly. I lived it.

Well done movie. The book, same title, is profound. The fact that HIV/AIDS could have been STOPPED is something we'll all have to remember.

A film that shows the truth about what happened to the gay community in the 80’s. Very similar to The Normal Heart. All in all pretty good.

Watching the Eighties few people understood the holocaust in the Gay community. Living at UCSC where Gay students were out and integrated into campus life. We all lost people we cared for. When the Gay guys went to San Francisco on weekends they went to the Bath Houses and many died because of it. There was one mistake after another and said many thousands died—millions around the world. The picture is a bit black and white with too much sentimentality in some places but it is still something everyone should watch.
