Description

Desperate for quick cash, college sophomore Samantha takes a babysitting job in the isolated mansion of the creepy Ulman family, unaware that a nightmare of unspeakable fear and torment awaits her when the ultimate evil is unleashed at midnight. From writer/director Ti West comes this acclaimed demonic thriller that’s an unnerving return to late ‘70s/early 80s classic horror.

  • Horrible Storytelling At Its Most Horrible

One of the worst attempts at 1970’s style retro horror I have ever seen. The director takes what could have been a 15-20 minute short film and drags it out to an exhausting and predictable 95 minutes of utter nonsense and shear boredom. Not once was I scared or even interested in what was happening on screen. Ti West is truly one of the most overrated filmmakers of our time.

If it has to do with horror, gore, sci-fi, or the macabre, I’ve more than likely seen it. This film strays from predictable, and is reminiscent of the 1970’s Satanic Panic films I grew up watching.
  • Not your average horror movie, in a good way

I went into this not expecting much, thinking it was another paranormal activity, found footage clone. I was pleasantly surprised to find a gem in the horror genre. It's the type of horror that builds up through the whole movie. There's some jump scares here and there. It the atmosphere and film directing is what makes it an excellent horror movie. I'd recommend it to anyone that's a fan of horror.
