Description

Superstar Harrison Ford ("Clear and Present Danger," "The Fugitive") stars in this boxoffice winning thriller ($86,000,000!) based on the best-selling novel by Scott Turow. Ford is a prosecuting attorney who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a beautiful colleague with whom he had been having a torrid extramarital affair. As the investigation unravels, the system of justice to which he once committed himself threatens to destroy his career, family and even his life. Jeffrey Lyons of "Sneak Previews" calls this a "first-rate thriller." Directed by Alan J. Pakula ("Sophie's Choice," "All the President's Men") and co-starring Brian Dennehy ("Cocoon"), Bonnie Bedelia ("Die Hard," "Die Hard 2"), Golden Globe-winner Raul Julia ("The Addams Family," "Kiss of the Spider Woman") and Greta Scacchi ("The Player," "White Mischief"). WWOR-TV raves: "murder, sex, suspense, surprises...sensational!"

and it was a terrific cinema-going experience! Even though I figured out "who dunnit" long before the big reveal, I genuinely loved it. And so did Mom. And that's all that matters. :-)

This is an unusual film for Harrion Ford. Most of his work over the last 30 years has been of one-dimentional character types stereotypical to their respective stories. Beside Hank, from "Regariing Henry", this was the first time where he allows the viewer to see his personal struggle with success and failure at the rist of appearing chiche. Make no mistake there is nothing cleche about this character or this film. As an attorney being pulled apart by personal loyalties and perfessionalism Harrison shows us a side to his craft that we rarely see. With his marriage on the verge of destruction Ford brings us into a work shockingly realistic and unrelentimg in its scope. Pollack, with hs unigue style of direction, dramatically pulls the audience through a labrynth of legal, and political interigue leaving the answers for the viewer to develope - this is not a sugar coated, spoon feed me thriller. If you're looking for something to keeo you on the edge of your seat, this is the one to watch. But hold on tight, its a bumpy ride.

This is a suspense thriller. It is *supposed* to have plot twists, and although it would be very difficult to live up to all the twists and turns of the novel, this flick does an admirable job. Ford is okay as the lead character, certainly plausible, while Scacchi and Bedelia are quite good. Dennehy turns in a good performance as the DA, and the supporting characters do well filling out the bill, but the real stars of this movie are the menacing mood and the plot. If you have read the book [one of Turow's best], you will not be disappointed, and if you haven't, this movie will make you want to.

Harrison gives his usual quality performance however the plot takes so many twists as to be confusing.

This movie should not have been named "presumed innocent" it should instead be named "another lame movie" starring harrison ford. I have no idea how this actor could produce great movies as Indianna jones. For one thing this guys character could have been played by a robot, at least the movie would contain SOME emotion.Contains terrible plot development, the movie didnt start for me until the last 40 minutes of it. All in all i shall never watch another movie with harrison ford unless its indianna jones, at least i wont fall asleep while watching that.
