Description

"The name is Bond...James Bond." Ian Fleming's James Bond is back! Times have changed. The Iron Curtain has fallen, giving way to a New World Order, and the power plays of political agendas have been replaced by ruthless plots for profit. The war has changed...but the warriors remain the same. This 17th installment of the legendary Agent 007 involves today's post-Cold War Russia and deals with the Mafia-linked market in nuclear weapons--with swiftly changing political patterns turning old opponents into new best friends...and old allies into deadly enemies.

  • Brosnan's first (and best) 007 adventure in amazing 4K

In 1995, the James Bond series was back in full swing six years after the underperforming Licence to Kill. Pierce Brosnan's excellent debut as 007 set the bar high for future adventures to come. Not to mention, it's the second best Bond film behind Goldfinger with Brosnan following in the footsteps of Connery and becoming a favorite James Bond for the Gen-X crowd. The 4K remaster does justice to this film with more color, more detail, and more of the widescreen image than the film's past home video releases.

I love James Bond movies. This was actually the very first one I ever saw. When it was released, I was only 11 or 12 years old. Anyways,it got me hooked on the rest of the series. This one and Diamonds are Forever are my favorites. The game is classic and it got me into first person shooters.

Goldeneye with all its might tried to deliver an edgier Bond at its time. Many felt a change was in order and so we got a new M, a new Moneypenny and of course a new Bond. With producers overjoyed at finally getting Brosnan after his Remington Steele contract ended, the future seemed pretty good. The movie has an explosive theme by Tina Turner yet a questionable score by Eric Serra. Naturally the two did not fuse. And although its opening sequence is somewhat farfetched, the movie delivered a promising start for the 90's. It has the humor, the girls, the cars and the gadgets. Its Bond. And its done well.

This movie was fantastic. It was fast-paced and Brosnan played the part very well. I remember seeing this in the theatre and I was very excited for future movies with Brosnan as Bond. Unfortunately, all the other movies with Brosnan were terrible. Poor writing and poor acting. What a shame. Goldeneye set the bar too high.
