Description

Cary Grant stars as an innocent man mistaken for a spy in one of director Alfred Hitchcock's greatest thrillers. While leaving New York's Plaza Hotel, advertising executive Roger Thornhill (Grant) has the misfortune of standing just as the name "George Kaplan" is paged--starting a lethal case of mistaken identity and a nonstop game of cat and mouse as he is pursued across North America by espionage agents trying to kill him--and by police who suspect him of murder.

This movie still holds its own in 2020. Among his very best. Along with all his others.

Great movie, one of hitchcocks best but this copy has the sides cut off by the studio to fit a 16 x 9 tv screen. Please Apple fix this!

I know this movie is a classic and that Hitchcock is well respected for his accomplishments in film. BUT, I just couldn’t get through this film. It’s nearly entirely dialogue based, to the point where you are essentially watching a play. That’s all well and good, but I look to films for entertainment and for new ideas, and this film doesn’t offer them. I know I know, it’s from the 50’s and film styles were different back then, as were the expectations. But, today, these expectations have shifted dramatically and in a way I’ve been spoiled by modern storytelling and all that it offers. This film is a classic in the way that The Odyssey or Crime & Punishment are classics. They’re well respected novels, and deservedly so, but they’ll also probably put you to sleep.

Perhaps one of the best movies ever made. I saw it when it was first released and knew that it would become a classic, and all the reviews seem to verify that conclusion.

A fanciful yarn that has some action, humor and adventure. I think the directing was heavy and overstated- loud minor chords played for the villains, rather predictable camera angles, etc. James Mason plays a wonderful villain. And Cary Grant looks great in that suit!

Thankyou Hitch...you have outdone yourself and given your fans hours of suspense and comedy that will never be duplicated... P.S. your cameo is Kramdenesque!!

This film has won the title of my favorite movie EVER! I loved every second of it! Alfred Hitchcock found an incredibly creative way to tell this storyline. Cary Grant was amazing (as always), along with every single one of the other actors. Each actor played their character so convincingly. Add that to fun twists and turns (I never thought the movie would end the way it did!), great settings, and exciting music, and you have one of the best films of all time. I just wish I could give this movie more than just five stars...

Hitchcock did a great job on this film. This movie has everything, with a James Bond type vibe. The famous, Airplane scene by Hitchcock is included as well.
