Having survived one of the most dull and boring trailers on the planet, I am glad I still gave The Brood a try. It was a very good movie, very realistic in period detail, and very mysterious in tone. I was eagerly on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what would happen next. And for those of you who don't believe a movie is a horror movie without the sight of blood--it has got some of that.

Just got into Cronenberg films and this one was the best! This movie is so different than any other horror movie. It's visually stunning, a little strange (but in a very good way), the actors are all amazing especially Art Hindle (such a great actor/talent and so handsome you can't take your eyes off of him! Just a stunning looking human being! I wish he was in more films) and the story is very interesting..keeps you on the edge of your seat. This movie is perfect for 70s & 80s horror and sci-fi fans. I will for sure purchase this movie and watch more Cronenberg films. Great director and very creative! A must watch!

Though I caught this one later in life, it's a classic in my horror collection now. Truly creepy, completely original and though slow at times it's definitely scary. For the horror purest this film is gold. Often bizarre as Cronenberg's horror films are, THE BROOD is by far my favorite of his extensive career.

But not as good as other movies, with the collection would've gotten Lost Highway instead...
