Description

The early days of the HIV-AIDS crisis in 1980s New York City is the focus of this searing HBO Films drama. you have to be in the right headspace for this film for sure. it is heartbreaking and deep and disgusting and the saddest thing, but it is SO good and SO important. this is in my top three best movies iโ€™ve ever seen, and might straight up just be the best. i think it is important for everyone to watch, gives you a real face and name and story to put this all on, maybe helps you see that lgbtq people are just people like everyone else., just. watch it. itโ€™s sad and inspiring and sad and gorgeous and maxes you angry and happy and frustrated and upset and i love it.

I really loved this movie! As a young gay man, I think the the era or the aids crisis within the gay community is often forgotten, which really is a tragedy if we hope to move forward as a community. This movie, along with other productions like 'When We Rise' serve as very real reminders of how the gay movement has gotten to its current state. Anyway, this was a really great movie with great actors. Loved it!

This movie moves through you. I have never cried so much in my life, for so many different reasons at a time. This movie reminded me how important life and love is. Its so sad the lgbt community has drifted so far away. It's so sad they people will only love you when you are not around to feel it.don't wanna give it away but it's a definite must see

I was not at all prepared for the amount of feels this movie brought to me. I have never cried so hard then when I watched this beautiful piece of cinematography. The acting is phenomenal and the characters are all captivating in their own way. This film had me deep in thought with tears to follow weeks after I watched it. I deeply encourage those who are even remotely interested to give it a chance. You will not be disappointed. I'm so glad to have this film in my collection both on iTunes and on Blu-Ray.

And unfortunately, true. Heartbreaking, this story tells of the beginning of the AIDS crisis, and it's all too human cost.

The saddest part about this entire movie is the fact that this happened (to some extent). When you realize that characters existed just like these and had to live through a time period that was extremely testing, I was torn so much inside. This movie made me feel things that I didnโ€™t want to feel but they were extremely necessary. After watching this movie, it makes me incredibly proud to be gay and regret all the times I wished to hide it. This movie will make you vocal and shows just how hard prejudices and lack of marriage equality can be.
  • A must-see movie!
