It’s now been 50 years since Tobe Hooper unleashed this horror masterpiece upon the timid unsuspecting public back in 1974! This film is a true masterpiece of horror. All the sequels are trash compared to it. We want raw, original, visceral horror and this film delivers. You really owe it to yourself to watch it if you have never seen it or watch it again. Today’s studios will never give you anything close to this and really and truly, we need hungry, independent filmmakers to deliver again. Rob Zombie liked the movie so good that he copied it and made House Of 1000 Corpses but his movie is a campy farce compared to this. Go watch this movie now!

For those who like watching movies on iTunes, this is as good as any horror movie you could choose from, if you’re looking not only for a horror movie, but for an older movie that is sure to entertain! The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was one of the scariest movies I had ever seen when I watched it for the first time decades ago, and my opinion hasn’t changed in all this time! Tobe Hooper is a genius when it comes to coming up with an idea plausibly shocking enough to terrify people!
  • One movie no one can ignore!

Not just one of the best horror movies ever made but one of the best movies ever made, in general. I’ve rarely seen a movie capture fear and insanity the way this one does. You actually feel like you’re losing your own mind watching it. The remake is good but the remake doesn’t capture insanity in the same way. Any killer can be mean. But it’s the one that laugh and grin that stay with you. Like the way this crazy family just laughs at Sally’s plight and mocks her screams. It’s brilliant all the way around and truly terrifying. 1000% recommend.
