  • Great movie - price just changed

I would give it 4 to 5 stars, but after the price had been $9.99 forever I decided to buy it not long after the passing of Kirk Douglas, so I find it very odd that suddenly it would be on sale for $4.99 just like the old movie The Postman Always Rings Twice and others that I just paid twice the amount. I have bought a lot of movies on here on sale, so it is not a huge deal, just sort of odd on the timing. It would be nice if they offered more incentives for those that have been buying alot of movies, but when they offer up combo packages, if you already own quite a many of the movies in the package, you lose on that. Also there are still so many old movies well over $10 at this time, so much room for those prices to drop. And bring more of them online and not just for rent!

Just seeing Lana flipping out in her car is worth it all. A real Star of yesteryear. Not "Eve" but a fun Hollywood version of the same passions.
  • Kirk Douglas is Truly Evil & this movie is MEAN

So Kirk Douglas plays a manipulative Hollywood. At the beginning, Lana Turner and two other men are called in to his crumbling acting studio. His illustrious work is failing and he is asking them to help him out for one movie. Then it flashes back to how three different people (a producer, an actress, and a playwright) meet him, and how he betrays them. This is kind of an odd movie. The performances and characters are impeccable and true art. The story was brilliant. However, the story didn't really fit me taste. But BUY IT. It is worth it.
