I've been looking for this movie since I wore out my VHS tape about a decade ago and *finally* I can download it. But PLEASE make the HD version available for purchase!

I LOVE THIS MOVIE! It's one of the best M-G-M musicals. Fred Astaire is top-notch, as always, and Cyd Charisse is one of the few female leads who can dance on his level in M-G-M musicals. Jack Buchanan is perfect for the role. Nanette Fabray is both talented and sexy. My favorite part is the "Triplets" sequence. LOL.

This movie is definitely up there with classics like Singin' in the Rain and American in Paris. Great songs, great actors, great dancing, what could possibly be bad?

I love musicals, and I think the Band Wagon is certainly one of the most entertaining ever made. It oozes fun and originallity. Liza Minnelli said it was her father Vincent Minnelli's favorite. The technicolor hues are gorgeous - remember "An American in Paris" and "Gigi". The dancing and singing numbers are all exceptional, and quite a few are true masterpieces! I'll mention just a couple of the 14 musical numbers in this picture: "Dancing in the Dark" with Astaire and Charisse is the most touchingly beautiful and romantic dance ever performed on screen - bar none, and "The Triplets Song" is one of the funniest ever devised. Yet, there are scores of great numbers in this wonderful film that features top-flight performers at the top of their game.
  • Best Movie Musical Ever?

I know, I know -- "Singing in the Rain" -- but if you've never had the immense pleasure of seeing "The Band Wagon" (and you probably haven't since it's been out of circulation for awhile) take a look, then decide. One great song after another, Astaire and Cyd Charisse, the hilarious Jack Buchanan, a terrific backstage show business storyline, luscious color and cinematography. If you like musicals, this belongs in your permanent collection.
  • Bring on the classics!

It's so great to see the old black and whites cross into the digital age. No one does it better than Fred Astaire and "The Band Wagon" is one of his best films!
